Inhalers for Rest, Relaxation, and Sleep

For people that wake in the middle of the night, inhalers can be a perfect choice because it is something you can grab from your nightstand and smell quickly to calm and get ready for sleep again.  (A diffuser blend in a high quality diffuser that lasts 8-10 hours may also be well suited for this purpose).  Essential Oil Inhalers are a little different than traditional inhalers though.  It’s simply a piece of cotton in a case.  The case has cap on one end that either pulls off or spins off in order to allow you to put essential oils on the piece of cotton.  The other end has a larger cap.  When that cap is removed there is a small hole that goes close to your nose while you inhale.  I have never seen these in any stores.  You can order essential oil inhalers here.   There are two methods that people use to make essential oil inhalers:  drip oils directly on the cotton or put oils in a bowl and allow the cotton to soak the oils up.  I prefer to drip the oils on the cotton, but either method works well.  Essential oil inhalers last for 2-3 weeks before the cotton piece needs to be replaced/refreshed.  Inhalers need about 10-15 drops of essential oils.
